Brought to you by TRESemmé
We’re obsessed with hair.
While pouring over backstage beauty trends, celebrity red-carpet events and fashion shows, we spotted some fabulous styles making waves for 2016.
There are lots of elaborate looks to choose from but we’ve featured five that are easy to recreate at home.
Mussed-up Mess
Bedhead hair was the key trend at the Michael Kors Autumn Winter 2016 show (pictured above) and the good news is it’s super simple to style yourself.
While you don’t need to do much styling here, you do need to get some texture and the best way to do that is work a little mousse into the hair.
TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse adds body and lift but your hair will still remain touchably soft.
The Tinkerbell
This wipsy high bun is similar to our favourite Disney character and since Kendall Jenner sported it at the American Music Awards, it’s become a go-to look.
We see this one becoming a red carpet favourite this season.
Pretty Jewels
This might be our favourite. Photographed on the Alberta Ferreti catwalk for SS 2016, this simple up-do features stunning gold jewellery offset by natural glowing makeup.
This one is easy to mimic: make sure you give your hair a boost by reversing the routine for extra volume and condition before you shampoo – TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner is our current favourite.
Then opt for a loose updo, add some gold hair accessories and you’re trend setting.
Pancaking
Everyone’s sporting a braid at the moment, from Kim Kardashian to blogger Chiara Ferragni.
We love the versatility of this style: you can plait all of your hair or just opt for a single braid on top or lots of mini ones.
Pancaking though is a professional take on the trend: you start with a neat braid. Then, once the style is completed, you pull little strands out for an undone textured finish.
Blunt Layers
The style of the moment is the ‘blunt cut’.
Marcus Francis, stylist to Julianne Moore no less, says this cut is all about convenience. Something we can definitely get on board with.
Getting the right cut means styling your hair yourself becomes a lot easier. YES.
