Brows, brows, brows.
If there's one beauty obsession that's really taken a hold in recent times, it has to be brows.
Think of all the memes generated by the phrase 'brows on fleek' not to mention the vast array of products you can use to perfect your brows.
Fillers, gels, pencils, definers, shapers - it can be pretty difficult to know where to start.
To get the down-low on what constitutes the perfect brow this season, I called in some expert advice from two of the beauty industry's biggest companies.
Fred Letailleur, Yves Saint Laurent European Makeup Artist and
Laura Pye, Elite MakeUp Artist for Lancôme were on hand to give the lowdown on whats's big for brows right now.
Fred is constantly on the go, travelling around to impart makeup knowledge on the latest YSL products coming to the market, and more importantly, how to get the most out of them.
Speaking about eyebrows and the obsession surrounding them, Fred said:
"Eyebrows are a major topic of the year. this season we find all sorts of styles according to how daring you wish to look, from the most natural brows to the highly defined right down to the colourful".
On this occasion, my query for him was brow trends and how to perfect them, when you don't have a makeup artist waiting in the wings.
According to this beauty maestro, there are three major brow trends this year.
1) Brushed-up brows
The first trend is “brushed up” brows, which translates to a thicker and more dense looking brow, perfect for a summer beach look, set for 24 hours, with a gel texture like our Couture Brow.
Simply brush up the inner part of the brow to add fullness or the outer part of the brow to uplift the end.
2) Smoky brow
The second trend, ideal to accompany a smoky eye is the 3D HD Brow using the YSL couture Brow Palette. First, mix the 2 light colours and apply on the inner half of the brow with an angled brush. Then mix the 2 dark colours on the outer half of the brow to extend it. This will create a slight ombré effect.

Finally, set the brow using the couture brow in shade 2 as the light colour prevents the whole look from looking too intense.
To add further sharpness, glide some touche eclat both under and on top of the brow then blend with a Q-tip.
3) Festival brows
Coloured brows are all the rage this year.
You can simply achieve this look very easily brushing through a light coat of the Vinyl Couture mascara in violet, blue or green (select the colour to enhance your eye colour) and preferably match the eyeliner used to the eyebrow colour selected.
Laura, a fountain of knowledge on all things Lancôme, is intent on keeping it simple this season.
Her advice is to the point: move away from the 'power brow'.
Effortless and natural brows are in and if you find that gaps are an issue, give Sourcils Styler a try to fill in any gaps while quickly structuring the brow.
It's also easy when you're in a rush and you don't have ages to spend perfecting your makeup.
