Actress Lauren Bacall has passed away, aged 89.
She is thought to have suffered a stroke at her New York apartment on Tuesday morning, according to reports.
The actress is survived by her three grown-up children, Leslie and Stephen Bogart from her marriage to Humphrey Bogart and Sam Robards from her marriage to Jason Robards.
Her first screen role was opposite Humphrey Bogart when she was just 19, in To Have and Have Not. In addition to her film career, Bacall had a recognised stage presence and won Tony awards for Applause and Women of the Year.
Bacall earned her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in The Mirror has Two Faces (1996) when she was 72 and in 2010, she was presented with a honorary Academy Award.

Many famous names have paid their respects to Bacall including Barbara Streisand who gave a statement to Entertainment Weekly.
She said: “First Robin who was a genius and now Lauren. It was my privilege to have known her, to have acted with her, and to have directed her. And, most of all, to have had her as a wise and loving friend.
“She was an original. Even with all those great films we can visit again and again, she will be missed”.
Alyssa Milano, Jenny McCarthy and Larry King were among those who chose to pay tribute to the star via Twitter.
