For the last while, Kesha has been embroiled in a legal battle with her producer Dr. Luke, but today a New York judge has ruled against the singer being able to break her contract.
According to the
Hollywood Reporter, the judge ruled that the contract could not be broken because it had been heavily negotiated and it wouldn't be commercially reasonable, and Dr. Luke had apparently said she could record without him present.
Kesha alleges that Dr. Luke drugged and raped her 10 years ago and has continually abused her, and had been requesting a preliminary injunction against the producer to be allowed record outside her contract with him.
Dr Luke (Lukasz Gotwald) argues that Kesha and her family were attempting to extort him, denying all allegations of sexual abuse and attributing her accusations to her unhappiness with her career's lack of progress.
The judge also pointed out the lack of medical evidence of sexual assault, aka hospital records.
The hearing continues to see which claims will be upheld for other cases.
