According to reports Nigella Lawson is planning to divorce her husband of ten years, Charles Saatchi.
The news comes a matter of weeks after photographs of the couple having an argument in public during which he grabbed her throat were published.
Nigella married the art tycoon 10 years ago.
An insider told the Sunday People that the television chef, who was spotted out and about in London without her wedding ring last week, is at the end of her tether: "She wants out.
"Neither her nor Charles are interested in counselling or trying to save the marriage. It seems they’re done and she is broken and desolate.”
The incident was captured and reported by the Sunday People earlier this month.
The source added: “The marriage has been under strain for some time but the choking incident was the end. If anything it is a relief for her that it could all be over very soon.”
Nigella and Charles, who accepted a police caution for assault last week, got married back in 2003. She has two children from her marriage to journalist John Diamond who passed away in 2001.
