

Actress and presenter Lynda Bellingham has been diagnosed with cancer according to reports this morning.
There has been no further information about her condition but the 65-year-old will be taking some time out to concentrate on her health.

In a statement, quoted by the BBC, Lynda expressed her disappointment at having to postpone a theatre tour of Kay Mellor’s A Passionate Woman while she undergoes treatment.
It read: “I’m devastated not to be able to honour my commitments to the play this year. But having toured many times before, I’m aware of the sheer stamina needed and I need to prioritise my recovery.”

The mother-of-two added: “That said, nothing’s going to stop me coming back next year, and I can’t wait to be ‘a passionate woman.’”
Lynda rose to fame in an Oxo advertisement campaign back in the 80s. Since then she has carved out a successful career including appearances on Loose Women and Strictly Come Dancing.
