In an exclusive with Hello! Magazine, the singer said:
"We've been together a few years now and knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I felt it was the right time."

The couple became engaged during a recent trip to Thailand, with Ronan telling the magazine he proposed while watching the sunrise:
"Everyone on the island was fast asleep and there we were, just the two of us, witnessing the most beautiful sunrise we've ever seen."
The couple, who have been dating for three years, then flew to Ireland, where Ronan proposed for a second time to TV producer Storm in front of his three children.
Describing the moment as ‘magical’, Ronan asked Storm to marry him again, when surrounded by his children on a family holiday on the west coast of Ireland:
"Storm isn't just marrying me. There are four of us involved. Storm has an amazing relationship with the kids, which is very important."
Ronan is father to three children, Jack (16), Missy (14) and nine-year old Ali from his first marriage to Yvonne Keating.
