Simon Cowell spends so much of his time being, well, nasty that is almost hard to believe he could ever play the doting father, but hold tight people, that is exactly what is happening. Simon's girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth last night to the couple's first child, a boy called Eric, named after Simon's father. Wonders will never cease.

Cowell then took to twitter to give some of the details himself and let everyone know just how delighted he is!
