Thousands of people worldwide are on royal baby watch this week and according to reports, the news may well be announced on Twitter.
It has been reported that the news will be sent out in an official release to those covering the story before being announced on social media feeds including the @KensingtonRoyal Twitter and Instagram accounts.

An aide explained that the news will hit social media “a couple of minutes” after the official release and will include the sex of the baby, the time of birth and the weight.
