“Hermione Granger has been addressing the United Nations General Assembly”. Nope, not kidding. “The actress Emma Watson… is a UN ‘Goodwill Ambassador’. What’s that, when it’s at home? I haven’t a clue. “Anyway, instead of telling them all the rules of quidditch or how to turn someone into a frog, she bored them all rigid with whining, leftie, PC crap. “Just like all actresses do if people are stupid enough to give them the chance. Why do we indulge these luvvie slebs, most of whom know nowt? “I don’t object to them having views and expressing them. I just don’t understand why we take them seriously. I suppose they got Emma in because Angelina Jolie is a bit tied up with other stuff at the moment.”Where do we even begin do point out the flaws with this one? First of all incredibly disrespectful to refer to her as her previous character as if to dismiss her as a real person. Implying that quidditch is more important or interesting that global equality is more than obscene. Asking why anyone would listen to an actress implies that women who act cannot also be intelligent, well-educated and well-informed. All of which Emma certainly is. People we understandably upset by the ridiculous column. https://twitter.com/Alright_Blondie/status/779322001144029184 https://twitter.com/hiheal/status/779753893890842624 https://twitter.com/deanmcdonaId/status/779734071496835072 https://twitter.com/sab0teur_/status/779643085122863104 https://twitter.com/marvellouve/status/779325880132927488 If any good can come of this, it's that it will give more publicity to Emma's incredible speech, which you can watch below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C4c7VR8X7I
