After it happened she tweeted about being “gutted” but now Jo Joyner has spoken out about the mistake she made during the EastEnders live week.
The actress, who returned to the role of Tanya Branning for the show's anniversary celebrations, messed up one of her lines.
During a discussion with Jane Beale (Laurie Brett), she asked “How’s Adam?” rather than “How’s Ian?” (Ian Beale is of course played by Adam Woodyatt.)

Speaking on
BBC London 94.4, she explained that the reaction she received made the situation bearable: “The week that I’ve had… the people have been so lovely.
“I’m just so blessed to have such great Twitter followers, such great friends and family and such a great cast and crew who just couldn’t have been more supportive, otherwise there’s absolutely no way I would have gone back out the next day.”
Jo also explained that she doesn’t know what happened: “We need to have such huge rehearsals and we were well rehearsed. I’d never got it wrong! Obviously, I thought I’d wait until there were nine million people watching.
“It was like an out of body experience, like a car crash really. As I’m saying ‘Adam’ I can hear myself tailing off, because I came out of my head and went, ‘well there’s no getting out of that.’”
While she did have a cry and hyperventilated ahead of her next scene, she managed to compose herself and get on with the job at hand. For that, we say fair play!
