Great news!
It may have divided opinions but it looks like Ghostbusters is going to be getting a sequel.
President of worldwide distribution at Sony Rory Bruer told The Wrap: "The Ghostbusters world is alive and well. I expect Ghostbusters to become an important brand and franchise."
When asked about a sequel he added, "While nothing has been officially announced yet, there's no doubt in my mind it will happen."
While he's said there will be a sequel, it's not clear whether director Paul Feig, or the leading ladies, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, would be on board for another movie.
A huge cloud of doubt hung over the movie when it was first announced that a reboot would be happening, and even more so when it transpired that the previous all-male Ghostbusters team would be played by an all-female cast, except for their secretary who is played by Chris Hemsworth.
The much-loved 1984 version, starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver, had such a massive following that people were apprehensive about how a reboot of the classic movie would turn out.
But while a lot of the negative feedback came before the movie was even released, they were all silenced by the good reviews it got when it came to cinemas.
We're hoping for a sequel anyway.
