She looks genuinely gutted.
When an artist is forced to cancel a gig the usual protocol is that their PR team or management will release a statement saying how upset they are to have cancelled the gig and barely ever explain the reason for cancelling in the first place.
This often leaves fans very disgruntled because they haven't got a proper explanation.
Adele cancelled her Arizona concert yesterday just a few hours before she was due to take to the stage. Instead of just shying away from her fans she chose to post a heartfelt and honest video to her social media channels.
In the video she explained that she was fighting a cold the last few days and pushed on with some of her tour dates even though she was feeling poorly. The cold eventually got the better of her and she was unable to perform last night as a result.
She spoke about how sorry she was to be letting down the fans and even recognised that some would have flown in from different areas. Her consideration towards her fans and genuine guilt is evident from the video.
In it she says,
"I’m really, really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple of days. And I’ve been pushing through it. And I did my show last night and I loved it, but I pushed too hard, and my cold has gotten the better of me.
“I’ve pushed through a lot of things. But I’ve been trying to sing all morning, and warming up, and nothing’s really happening. I’m so sorry to let you down... It’s the last thing I want to do, but I have to look after myself because I’ve got so many more shows to do.”
She also added that she would reschedule the concert and come back and "smash it".
