Tasty cocktails and the best beats... bring it on

Rebecca McKnight

The rucksack is packed and we’re ready for EP 2013.

Tomorrow, Ireland’s greatest festival begins its 2013 incarnation, and we cannot wait. We’ve already spoken on these pages about the headliners, the necessary fashions, the celebs who are planning a trip and the craic that’s sure to be had.

One of the best things about EP though, is all the fun on offer even when you’re nowhere near the main stages. For cocktails and serious beats, we love CASA BACARDÍ.

Now, BACARDÍ has announced stage times for the award-winning CASA BACARDÍ Arena at Electric Picnic 2013 which will feature a stellar line-up of top international and Irish DJs. Joining BACARDÍ for the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Electric Picnic is the king of New York disco, Nicky Siano, one of the world’s top DJ’s Felix Da Housecat, as well as renowned DJs Hercules & Love Affair, A-Skillz, Krystal Klear,Friendly Fires, Aeroplane and Jacques Renault. Stage times can be downloaded from the Bacardi Facebook page www.facebook.com/BACARDI or from www.electricpicnic.ie

This year, for the first time BACARDÍ invited their friends and fans to become part of Casa BACARDÍ team at Electric Picnic and launched a nationwide search for a new BACARDÍ DJ, Bartender, Blogger and Bat. The winning DJ from Kildare, David McGoff fought off tough competition and took the top prize of performing first at Casa BACARDÍ – a new talent not to be missed! The line-up also includes the talents of some of Ireland’s most popular DJs, Stevie G, Hidden Agenda DJs, Mother DJs, Big Dish Go and Nightflight DJs.

Festival goers will have a chance to learn more about the great heritage and traditions of BACARDÍ in a secret speak easy room unveiled only to those who are lucky enough to find the room and the secret password.

Throughout the weekend, the BACARDÍ bartenders will be found in the Cocina (kitchen) at CASA BACARDÍ, giving festival goers take-away tips on how to make their own delicious BACARDÍ cocktails in their own Casa using every day kitchen utensils.

Keeping with tradition music lovers will of course be treated to festival favourite cocktails – the BACARDÍ Mojito, Cuba Libre, Raspberry Daiquiri and the classics – Bacardi and Coke, Bacardi “Oak and Coke” and many more.

See you there?
