Here’s where you can get your own Michael Tea Higgins

There was on clear favourite on Gogglebox Ireland tonight and it was the adorable tea cosy owned by Angela and Eileen from Castleknock.

He’s warmed their tea and the hearts of the nation and the one question on everyone’s lips is where can they get one?

Well, a little bit of googling has revealed that the original Michael Tea Higgins was created by Virginia Costello many moons ago. Sadly, she told Broadsheet in 2012 that she doesn’t have a set pattern for it and makes it by memory. Luckily, a replica has been created by Linda Rose of Rosiecosie and is available through her Etsy store HERE. Linda says: “ This is sure to cheer up anyone at the breakfast table!” The tea cosy is knitted in a chunky yarn with his head lightly stuffed to create a cute and cuddly appearance as well as keeping the tea warm in the pot. Its guest appearance on Googlebox means the tea cosy in huge demand, but luckily Linda creates an array of other adorable tea warmers.
