It's the comeback TV event that Stars Hollow obsessives have been waiting for all year.
When Netflix announced last winter that it was commissioning four new movie-length instalments of
Gilmore Girls - with the original creator-writer and almost the entire cast - fans went absolutely baloobas with excitement.

The creative team behind the cult series have been very coy about release date details, but - whoop! - Netflix has finally announced when we can devour the new instalments.

Netflix also released a new teaser trailer with the premiere info for what is officially titled
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life.

Over the familiar acoustic soundtrack, we're reintroduced to all the town fixtures like Luke's, the Dragonfly, and Doose's Market, before we're thrown right into a kitchen table chat between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel).

"Do you think Amy Schumer would like me?" Lorelai asks, prompting Rory to reply in the negative, saying that Schumer is always doing water sports on her vacations, and Lorelai would never go along with that.
Sure enough, Amy Schumer has responded to the joke, in her own inimitable way:

What other info do we have on the new four-part series? Well, we know that the episodes will be themed around the four seasons, and will be called 'Spring', 'Summer', 'Fall' and 'Winter'.
However, whether or not Netflix will release them all on the same day is not yet certain.
'Variety' is reporting that all four instalments will come on the day.
But show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is not in favour of the usual Netflix distribution model for the reunions.
She told TVLine last year:
"My preference would be they would not be released at once, because I feel like there’s going to be anticipation, and I think the diehard fans would enjoy it more with a little separation. Because the last thing you want is for someone to jump to the last episode and [ruin] it for everybody — which I think would happen, quite frankly, in this day and age of binging. So my preference would be to release them at least a day apart. Let people get a little sunlight and go for a walk around the corner. [Laughs] We have not spoken to Netflix about it, so I don’t know what their thought process is yet. But we’re planning to throw it out there."
