Watch out Simon Cowell.
Spice Girls fans all around the world rejoiced with the news that a few members of the band were reforming to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their first single,
Wannabe.
While it had been teased by some of the members about a possible reunion, it wasn't until the end of last week when Geri, Emma and Mel B made the
official announcement.
They announced that GEM has now been formed and the three girls will be making new music and will be planning a tour for next summer. But now it appears there's even more to it.
They reportedly have set their sights on reality TV and want to take on the likes of
The Voice and
The X Factor with a brand new talent show. According to
The Mirror, a source told them, "It’s early days but Mel B, Emma and Geri are in talks about developing their own show."
This could be very interesting if they get a broadcaster on board.
Mel B has been hinting about a reunion for months telling the
Associated Press, “I think it’s our 20th year next year so we’re going to be doing something at some point with hopefully all of us.”
Our hopes were dashed when Victoria and Mel C both excused themselves from the reunion with a spokesperson for Victoria telling
TMZ, "She has been very respectful about the fabulous time they had together in the past, however, her focus is now very much her family and fashion business."
While Mel C wanted to 'focus on a more serious music'. A source told
The Sun, "Mel C is out of the reunion for now. She has essentially left the band to focus on a more serious music career. She loves the girls but it just didn’t feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment.
“She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn’t going to be part of the reunion."
