It’s been responsible for some of the most bizarre moments in recent television history, and last night Celebrity Big Brother returned for another run.
While most of Ireland was glued to the Rose of Tralee, fourteen celebrities (their word, not ours) entered the CBB house.
There was drama before the show even started, as one of the celebs pulled out at the last minute – rumour has it that Misfits actress Lauren Socha who skipped out on her chance to shine in a 24-hour filming environment.
The line up is the biggest the show has seen since 2007.
First into the house was Benefits Street star White Dee, followed by James Jordan from Strictly Come Dancing.
Emmerdale’s Claire King was next in, followed by Kelly Brook’s other half David McIntosh, also known as Gladiator Tornado.
Kellie Maloney entered the house after McIntosh, fresh from weeks of media coverage following her decision to live as a woman.
A boxer followed the former boxing promoter with Audley Harrison’s arrival.
Former TOWIE star Lauren Goodger was hotly tipped for a space in the house and sure enough she was next. Hot on her heels was George Gibley, known from TV’s sleeper hit Gogglebox.
And finally the Irish connection! B*Witched singer Edele Lynch hit the house fresh from The Big Reunion Tour.
Edele was followed by Geordie Shore’s Ricci Guarnaccio and fellow reality TV star Stephanie Pratt, known from both The Hills and Made In Chelsea.
Will and Grace’s Leslie Jordan joined the motley crew next, followed by Angelique Morgan, a french reality TV star.
Last to enter the house was Hollywood actor Gary Busey, known for a stellar back catalogue of films including Point Break and Leathal Weapon.
CBB will air nightly on Channel 5 for the next month.
