First of all you will now be able to go swimming on site. This year festival goers will be able to cool off at the lake which will be located in the idyllic surroundings of the Stradbally Hall estate.
Picnic lifeguards will be on duty to watch out for everyone’s safety over the course of the weekend and they have specific times for families and adults, meaning it will be the perfect place for a dip.

If you like good music, dancing and amazing cocktails - then you'll love Casa Bacardi at Electric Picnic. It will have some of the best Irish and international DJs playing over the weekend. There’s no better way for you and your friends to toast the end of the summer than with a Bacardi and a dance to some of the best tracks from some of the best artists in the business.
Huxley headlines the opening night on Friday, September 2nd, with support from Hercules & Love Affair, Stevie G and Stephen Manning on stage from 4pm. On Saturday, Nicky Siano leads the line-up before Hidden Agenda’s DJ
On Saturday, Nicky Siano leads the line-up before Hidden Agenda’s DJ DEECE keeps the party going until 2am. Joining Saturday’s line up are Horse Meat Disco, Krafty Kuts, Get Down Edits, Groovement Soul, Modern Music and 4WARD GRAD on stage from 12pm.
Closing the festival on Sunday is legendary indie dance DJ Stephen Fasano (aka The Magician) with support from Disco Bloodbath and A-Skillz. Top Irish DJ Kelly-Anne Byrne, Mother DJ Phil Boyle (aka Ghostboy) and Christian Homan rounds up the line-up on the final day.
Heineken Sound Stage
Heineken is bringing their Sound Atlas stage to EP this year and like its previous outings at Longitude and EP it comes with a unique theme based on a major city. The next stop is Amsterdam.
Sound Atlas will launch the Dutch invasion with a full weekend of spectacular performances including two of The Netherlands’ top DJs, Dexter and Tom Waist, who are scheduled to play and promise to deliver the unique sounds of the Dutch capital to the fields of Stradbally.
Kicking off at 2pm each day, Heineken Sound Atlas will give festivalgoers a sample of Amsterdam is like with the tastes, smells and experiences of the capital, along with the sounds of its thriving dance music scene.
Just Eat
If you're looking for food at the festival but don't want to queue then you'll be happy to hear that the folks over JustEat will have you covered because they'll be providing table service at the festival.

This year the festival will be introducing the first ever on-site motel: The Bold mOTel, which will be brought to us by Orchard Thieves.
The Bold mOTel will feature a giant abandoned swimming pool turned dancefloor. Festivalgoers will be invited to get in the pool and dance the day away under the supervision of the DJ Lifeguard Tower. A host of well-known DJs will take to the poolside decks, playing all the ultimate hits of the past few decades. There will be an official launch party on
There will be an official launch party on the Friday night but all the antics will kick off on the Saturday and Sunday from 1pm. Over the weekend, there will be different activities organised in the motel and will have some exciting live pop-up performances. Not only that, the first people to arrive will be given special keycards where they can hold their own private party in the motel.
Electric Ireland's Throwback Party
Prepare for a nostalgia-themed party at Electric Ireland's Throwback Party which is happening at this yea'rs festival with Bananarama and Snap! signed up to play.
A dance-off ring has been added to the Throwback Party, giving people a chance to show their best moves. Each person gets 60 seconds of a random tune played by the Throwback DJ. In between the dancing, festivalgoers can also chill to some classic movies such as Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and The Goonies. Smash Hits, the popular tribute group of early ‘90s dance, pop and R’n’B, will return to the tent again this year on Sunday, 4th September.
The Salty Dog
Climbing on board the shipwreck this year are the Bronagh Gallagher Band, David Kitt, the regrouping of 60s experimental folk group Dr Strangely Strange, late night sets from wild retro-man Kormac, stick-chief RSAG, The Eskies, Stomptown Brass, Prison Love, Buffalo Sunn, Mongrel State, Old Hannah, The Pete Pamf Sextette, The Trinitones and The Square Pegs. They've also promised two bumper surprise acts which they say are too secret to share.
Other Voices
