Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the 72nd Golden Globes in Beverly Hills last night and this opening monologue is what some would call perfection.
“Tonight we celebrate all the great television shows that we know and love, as well as all the movies that North Korea was okay with,” Fey begins.
As they made their way around the star studded crowd, the pair selected members of the audience, all of whom seemed slightly petrified as to what was to come when their name was called out, and poked fun in the greatest way possible.
Jennifer Anniston was attending for her appearance in
Cake, which Fey and Phoeler went on to describe as a "light and fluffy dessert" for those in Hollywood that didn’t know.
"Steve Carell took two hours to put on his hair and makeup for
Foxcatcher," Fey told the room. "Just in comparison, it took me three hours to prepare for my role tonight as human woman."
George Clooney’s lifetime achievement award seemed almost ludicrous after Fey reamed off a list of incredible goals his wife Amal Alamuddin, a human rights lawyer, has achieved.
The ladies even play a game of ‘who would you rather?’ This is 10-minutes of comedy genius…
