Paul Henson is a dad to Caiden, a boy with a love for Disney and some seriously good choice in role models.
When Caiden decided he wanted to dress up as the impressive go-getter Elsa for Halloween, dad Paul decided to take to social media to address the fact his son is dressing up in a princess costume.
Rather than forcing his son into a different costume, Paul realises that it’s important to let him be himself.
In a Facebook post, Paul writes:
‘Anyone that knows us, knows we generally let Caiden make his own choices, to an extent. Well, he has decided on a Halloween costume. He wants to be Elsa. He also wants me to be Anna. Game on.
Keep your masculine bullshit and slutty kids costumes, Halloween is about children pretending to be their favorite characters. Just so happens, this week his is a princess.’
Which is a pretty great message to pass onto any child – to value your role models on their personalities and not their gender.
Paul, we salute you.
