Snorting chocolate.
Personally, I'd be more partial to eating it but the latest party trend involves taking chocolate as a "recreational drug".
According to
The Independent UK and
OZY, "raw chocolate or cocoa can be taken in drink, pill or powdered form".
One such event where this has proved massively popular is
Lucid in Berlin where many partygoers indulged in snorting chocolate.
This is what Lucid's organisers say about the craze:
"We do not serve alcohol, but this does not make us ‘anti’ anything. We have local artisans and culinary adventurers serving various high vibe medicines such as raw Cacao, super-food smoothies, herbal concoctions, vegan cuisine and much more".
We might just stick with brownies...
Apparently there are a number of benefits from ingesting raw cacao.
It's said to release endorphins into the bloodstream which lends to feelings of euphoria while the magnesium present in chocolate acts as a muscle relaxant.
There are no hallucinations associated with snorting chocolate, instead, it's supposed to amplify your party experience, i.e the music and other people at the gathering.
Okaaaaay.
