Many fall into the trap of thinking all oils are bad for you – good fats are crucial to a healthy body, so stop thinking of fat as the enemy. The key is choosing said ‘good’ fats and knowing what to look for.
Coconut oil falls into the 'superfood' category.

Coconut oil can help improve insulin use throughout the body, boost thyroid function and increase metabolism. It also aids in digestion, and helps your body absorb fat-soluble vitamins.
The medium chain triglycerides found in coconut oil have been proven to increase energy over a 24-hour period by as much as 5%. Not only does it increase energy levels, it increases stamina during workouts, speeds up the recovery and healing process after any exercise.
Coconut oil can be applied topically and serves for various other purposes. It can be applied directly to your skin and hair for an immediate beauty-boosting treatment, but ingesting about two tablespoons a day will give you the best results.
When heated, coconut oil does not form any unwanted harmful by-products like most other oils and animal fats and can be used to replace butter as a healthier alternative.
