To celebrate World Mental Health Day, Mental Health Ireland (MHI) have launched a fantastic new campaign to support positive mental health.
‘Plan to Protect your Mental Health & Wellbeing’ encourages everyone to become aware of their wellbeing by following five simple steps, which include connecting, daily activity, awareness, learning and giving.
World Mental Health Week kicked off yesterday and World Mental Health Day will be celebrated globally on October 10th. This week is an opportunity to bring awareness to mental health on an international, national and local scale, informing and educating people about mental health and wellbeing.
MHI has been an innovator in the promotion of mental health for almost for almost fifty years.
Speaking about the #PlanToProtect campaign, CEO for MHI, Orla Barry, said: “The five steps outlined in the #PlanToProtect campaign are good basis for everyone to enhance their wellbeing. By connecting with people around us though activities, new courses and volunteering we benefit ourselves and those we come in contact with along the way.
“Tuning into our moods and reactions helps us to understand helps us to understand how our thoughts and emotions influence our wellbeingLife is moving at a rapid pace and by pausing to take stock of little moments in our lives we get to experience life rather than watch it fly by.
“Positive mental health is a journey, sometimes enlightening, sometimes challenging, but most definitely a worthwhile journey to embrace in life and I would encourage everyone to get involved.”
