Should I avoid sex?
There are some stages in pregnancy when sex should be avoided and your midwife or doctor will advise you on this.
If you are experiencing heavy bleeding during pregnancy, if your waters are broken then you will be advised to avoid sex.
Consult your GP or midwife if you are in any doubt.
What’s the best position?
There’s no magic answer to this one only to find a position that you find the most comfortable. It might need some experimenting – which is always the fun part – but don’t be afraid to try something different out, and it may even be more comfortable for you to each lie on your side.

As always, if you are feeling unsure or experiencing discomfort during your pregnancy, consult your GP or midwife.
