The #nomakeupselfie trend continues as donations soar to an incredible €650,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.
The viral craze has spread across social networking sites since beginning on Wednesday, with users making a donation and posting a fresh-faced selfie before nominating their friends to do the same.
The Irish Cancer Society have been keeping the public updated with their progress via the charity's
Facebook page and today's incredible news comes courtesy of Dublin based tech company,
LIKECHARITY, who have made mobile donations for the cause so simple.
Yesterday's figure hit the phenomenal €550,000 mark with another €100,000 added to that sum by early this morning.
The LIKECHARITY's COO, John Kyne, isn't surprised by the remarkable response the campaign has received.
Social media is a great tool to engage with audiences and when the public take over and decide to do your bidding for you - you need to be ready to make the most of that opportunity," he said.
"By seeing pictures all over Facebook and watching your friends getting involved, challenges a person and asks them squarely, ‘are you just going to sit there and do nothing? Most people have a good sense of their social responsibility and they won’t ignore their duty."

Keep up the incredible work!
