What's that coming over the hill, is a monster? No, it's Hurricane Gonzalo...
Fret not folks, we have a few days to prepare for the big storm headed our way from the US.
According to this detailed graph from the American National Hurricane Centre, Hurricane Gonzalo is predicted to make its way over the Atlantic Ocean and is due to hit Ireland on Tuesday morning.

The hurricane, that shares its name with a character from Shakespeare's
The Tempest, began in the Bahamas early Thursday morning.
This tweet from
CNN shows the high winds and heavy rain coming across the Atlantic Ocean.
The National Hurricane Centre revealed that Hurricane Gonzalo is currently moving northwards at approximately 9 miles per hour.
Sustained winds of up to 140mph (225kph) have been recorded, so it is safe to say to leave the umbrellas where they are, no one wants to be that person…

Although graphs indicate that the storm is headed towards Ireland, it is possible that it may change course and disperse before Tuesday.
We have our lovely brothers and part-time weathermen over at JOE.ie to thank for this update. We'll leave the stocking up of supplies to them also, they really are a great bunch of lads.
