We Irish are a burly bunch but there are some things that we just can't cope with. Here are 11 of them...
1. Losing
First off, we're too proud to lose and therefore are incredibly competitive. Secondly, if we do lose, it's for a good reason (such as a bad referee decision). Thirdly, we don't like talking about losing.
2. Winning
A victory is usually followed up with a downplaying of our skill or good performance in the form of "It's no big deal," or "That was pure luck!"
3. Public transport
It's late. It never turned up. It's too crowded. It's taking forever. It's the devil in disguise.
4. The rain
You would think we would have gotten used to it by now but no, it's still a pain and we never expected it.
5. The sun
When it finally does arrive, we don't like it.
6. Basically any extreme weather conditions
Like Bambi learning to walk.
7. Compliments
The simple response would be to say "thank you" but that's not the Irish way. We either deflect it back to the giver, completely disagree with said compliment or put ourselves down.
8. A bad cuppa
It's like a slap in the face.
9. A bad pint
If there's one thing we know and expect to be amazing in Ireland, it's a pint.
10. A bad Irish accent
It will forever colour the way we look at the actor and it's rather insulting. Nobody sounds like that Gerard Butler!
11. People who faff about
Ain't nobody got time for people dandering about in the middle of the street or drivers who insist on driving at five miles an hour.
