A couple who were married for 73 years died just over a day apart.
According to the
Cincinnati Enquirer, Helen and Joe Auer from Ohio passed away within 28 hours of each other last week.
The publication reports that during Helen’s final moments, Joe leaned over to kiss her goodbye and whispered “call me home.” He passed away the following day.
The couple, who had 10 children during their life together, are survived by nine children, 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Their youngest son Jerry revealed: “They were simple, humble people. They wanted nothing and got everything in return.”
He added: “If somebody were thinking of getting married, they could do a lot worse than to look at my parents.”
Somebody PLEASE pass us the tissues!
