Craig McCartney and his girlfriend Lindsay make documenting their holidays child’s play, using Lego doppelgangers to pose in front of landmarks along the way.
The snap happy couple have captured their breaks in Scotland, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia using a variety of outfits including swimwear for the beach, shorts and T-shirts for warm days, jumpers and long trousers for when the temperature drops as well as their trusty camera, backpack and a map. They even have a pair of matching red bicycles.
The Lego adventures began when Craig was helping his mum clean out his old Lego from their family home and they stumbled across figurines resembling him and his girlfriend:
"My mum found a box of lego from when we were kids. I remembered how much fun lego was. It was Lindsay's birthday coming up, I found a couple of Lego figures that looked like us. It was the first present I gave her. It was for her 30th birthday and we were in Paris. The next day we took pictures of the Lego with Paris in the background and we joked about creating a Facebook page."
The couple have since built up a following on their
Facebook and
Instagram page, with social media followers kept updated on their latest excursions through their miniature lego-selves.
Their latest road trip around Australia is keeping the pair occupied as they set off in a campervan around the country’s coast:
"We bought a campervan when we arrived, we travelled north up to the Gold Coast for three months. We did an eight week trip from the Gold Coast to Perth via Melbourne, along the coast. And the Lego figures have come all the way.”
There’s literally hours of fun here - both in front and behind the camera.
