The emojis will allow users to express themselves using ‘Like’, ‘Love’, 'Wow’, ‘Haha’, ‘Yeah’, ‘Angry’ and ‘Sad’.
The reaction to and use of the new emojis and ‘Like’ alternatives in Spain and Ireland will be monitored by Facebook over the coming days to see if the changes should be rolled out.
“It’s exciting that Ireland’s Facebook community will be one of the first to participate in testing these new ways to express their reactions,” said Gareth Lambe, head of Facebook in Ireland according to RTÉ News.
“With over two million Irish people actively logging onto Facebook very day, they’ll have more ways to show how they feel – whether that’s happy, sad, funny or thought-provoking.”
