Met Éireann Unveils The List Of Names That Will Be Given To Future Storms In Ireland

Woohoo, I have a storm named after me! Winter is officially coming, and as we switch on the electric blankets and try desperately not to turn the heating on just yet, Met Éireann has unveiled the names that will be given to future storms in Ireland and the UK. The Irish forecaster along with the Met Office in the UK asked the public last month to suggest names for storms that may hit Ireland in the coming months, with thousands of entries received over social media. Now though, they have officially released the winners list so watch out for storms with the names Abigail, Barney, Clodagh, Desmond, Eva, Frank, Gertrude, Henry, Imogen, Jake, Katie, Lawrence, Mary, Nigel, Orla, Phil, Rhonda, Steve, Tegan, Vernon and Wendy. Met Éireann will name a storm when it is believed that it has the potential to have a major impact on Ireland and the UK. And in the meantime, here's today's weather forecast.
