
While they are not expected to be as bad as the downpours across the country yesterday, more thundery showers are expected tonight.
Met Éireann has issued a yellow status rainfall warning for Dublin, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow with between 20 and 30mm of rainfall expected in some areas.
The warning, which indicates that there is also a risk of flooding, is in effect from 4.00pm today until 4.00am on Saturday morning which means motorists should take extra care on the roads tonight.
As for the rest of the weekend, Saturday afternoon will see showers mixed with bright spells and temperatures around 4 to 8 degrees.
Tomorrow night will be drier but colder, between 2 and 6 degrees, with fog and mist developing in parts of the west.
Sunday will see more of the same, dry spells with isolated showers. Highest temperatures are expected to be around 11 degrees.
