If you’ve ever been curious about the average size of some junk in the trunk, then we have the research you’ve been waiting for…
Scientists have taken the time to measure more than 15,000 men’s penises, taking the average as ‘normal’.
Taking out the measuring tape in King’s College London, the results revealed that the average flaccid penis is 3.6inches long, reaching 5.1inches while erect. They even took the average circumference as 3.7 inches and girth at 4.5inches.
The study, which is aimed to help abate some fears and address “the concern that some men have about their penis size” is hoped to reduce the anxiety and distress experienced by men around their manhood.
According to The Independent, the research covered measurements across all ages and many races.
Using 17 studies including measuring 15,521 penises in a standard medical procedure, the testing was carried out by medical professionals.
And for the taller males in your life?
Apparently there is a ‘small positive correlation’ between the erect length of a penis and the man’s height.
The new research will be used to help treat men suffering from Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD):
“We will also use the graphs to examine the discrepancy between what a man believes to be their position on the graph and their actual position, or what they think they should be.”
“BDD causes a person to have a distorted view of how they look and they can spend an obsessive amount of time worrying about their appearance. This can include worries over their weight, specific parts of their body and, for men, the size of their penis.”
