Second Speaker To Replace Headphone Jack On iPhone 7

WHAAAAT?!

Cathy Donohue

We recently heard that Apple plans to get rid of the headphone jack for the latest iPhone and there looks to be some truth in those rumours.

Spotted on METRO, a Barclays research memo came to the attention of the guys at Apple Insider and it looks like the new model will feature a second speaker.

Long story short, this means that the iPhone 7 will have ridiculously good sound, something akin to having a stereo in your pocket.

Anyone who uses an iPhone 6/6S will know that the single speaker is located on the same side as the headphone jack so it’s easy to see how the headphone jack could be eliminated making room for the rumoured second speaker.

There’s no confirmation on the news as of yet and we might have to wait until the phone lands, reportedly in September, before we see any concrete proof.

Considering that standard Apple headphones won’t work with the new model, many users are outraged and this one is set to run and run.
