Emoji OBSESSED
Lead researcher Dr Helen Fisher said: "Here we have a new technology that absolutely jeopardizes your ability to express your emotion... there is no more subtle inflection of the voice ... and so we have created another way to express emotions and that is the emoji".
Fisher believes that the use of emojis allows you to show you more of your personality in conversation and to be fair, we can see what she means by this (any fellow unicorn obsessives out there?!)
The survey relates to all emojis, not just the ones that could be interpreted as 'sex' emojis i.e. the aubergine, banana, tongue etc, and overall, the wink face was deemed the most popular.
In second place was the standard smiley and third, the kiss face.
