Ten Things We Loved This Week

These are a few of our favourite things... for this week at least, we're fickle like that.

Rebecca McKnight

Well hello Friday, we’ve missed you.

Time to take a look back at the week that was, and ten things that put a smile on the faces of Her.ie staffers in the past seven days…

This Picture

Yesterday marked World Down Syndrome Day, and this gorgeous image really made us smile. A few months back we chatted to one Irish mum who blogs about life with her beautiful daughter, who happens to have DS. You can read what she had to say here.

Opel ADAM

While most of us are slaving away in the office on this rainy Friday, Her.ie’s Denise is out checking out this beautiful new car from Opel. We’re hoping she gets back in one just in time to give us all a lift home this evening.

Corner Boy

We have our girl Amy to thank for this one. She’s introduced us to the folksy sounds of Corner Boy in the Her.ie office this week. Corner Boy is the pseudonym of a young Irish folk singer who goes by the name Michael D’Arcy. If you like your lyrics meaningful and your melodies catchy, he’s definitely one to watch. Michael and his fellow musicians gig regularly, so keep an eye on Cornerboy.org for upcoming dates.

These heroines

The Irish Women’s Rugby Team secured their first ever Six Nations Grand Slam last Sunday as they over came Italy. The formidable women made the match their fifth consecutive win and made history in the process. These legends will be appearing on tonight’s Late Late Show.

Nailed It

Her.ie’s Aoibhinn and Michelle got a lovely treat this week, they headed over to Tropical Popical to get their nails done with shades from the new RIMMEL Salon Pro range. With several of the shades designed by Kate Moss, we give the collection a major stamp of approval. If anyone needs us over the weekend we’ll be in, painting our nails.

Fusion and Street Soups

It’s Baltic outside, so we’ve been warming ourselves up this week with these new Fusion and Street Soups. There are four to choose from; A Taste of Bangkok/Marrakech/Mexico or Mumbai. Office majority is opting for Mexico at the moment, and it’s as close as we’re getting to a holiday for the time being. Sigh.

I scream, you scream…

From warming up to cooling off – but please note we ate this ice-cream while sitting on a radiator. Know what’s even better than ice-cream? New ice-cream. We’ve been sampling the Blondie Brownie flavor from Ben & Jerry’s. We suggest you do too. Delicious.

Easter Treats

Yes we’ve already polished off one chocolate delivery long before the day itself arrived, but thankfully we’ve got some more supplies. A bag of these delicious Lindt bunnies arrived in this week. It’s days like that when we really, really love our jobs. Nom.

Office Games

So this arrived in our office this week too. Productivity has decreased, and the chances of on-site accidents have steadily increased. We’ll let you know how the tournament goes.

Michael Bublé

We love him, he loves us… it’s a beautiful relationship really. Check it out…

Technically he’s lying, because you can’t really watch it right now, but we will have it before anyone else! Check back here Monday for the first look at Michael’s new video, especially for you!
