I’m not being biased here, but Dublin is without a doubt the finest city in Ireland.
Whether you want to rock-climbing in Dalkey, sea-kayaking in Howth, kitesurfing on Dollymount Strand or learning to sail in Malahide, there’s something for all adventure seekers along Dublin’s coast.

The video highlights Dublin’s coastal regions like Skerries, Malahide, Howth, Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey and reminds us of the array of activities available (just in time for the long weekend).
Skerries is the place to visit if you’re interested in trying out some stand up paddle boarding. Run by a pair of brothers, Outdoor Dublin has helped popularize the sport. Try it out and grab an ice-cream at Storm in A Teacup at the end of the pier after all the hard work.
Malahide is the place to visit for sailing with the Malahide and Fingal Sailing Schools on hand to assist both novices and seasoned boating enthusiasts.
Howth is a fishing village and something of a mecca for lovers of scuba diving. You’ll find Feel Good Scuba are great to bring beginners and improvers around the fascinating submerged wrecks in the area. Don’t leave without some fish and chips.
Dun Laoghaire is home to The Royal St George Yacht Club. The Irish National Sailing and Powerboat school operates out of Dun Laoghaire and provides tuition for all levels. Of course it’s also famous for having the best ice cream in Ireland from Teddy’s and its multiple piers for a lovely stroll.
Dalkey is the place to visit if you want a strenuous workout. Kayak under the sheer cliffs or attempt a rock climb at Dalky Quarry.
