Well it’s definitely a little different.
Irish duo White Boys have released their Christmas take on ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ and it’s more Daft Punk than Cliff Richard…
Made up of Kerryman Gary Keane and Cork native Eoin Walsh, the men made their first trip into the synth/funk covers world when they covered Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’.
While it’s not exactly what you expect to have playing softly behind you during Chistmas dinner, White Boys had their own idea of bringing some Christmas cheer to a classic carol.
Speaking to Her.ie, Gary said:
‘We wanted to do a classic Christmas carol in our own style, give it our own twist with me beatboxing and Eoin on talkbox. It was also a good excuse to get my sitting room decorated early - kill two birds with the one stone.”
The pair, who met for the first time on the set of The Late Late Show, have now released their debut single
‘Stylin’.
As you may have guessed, it’s all about funk, RnB and groove.
Nice work lads!
Cheers to Gary Keane for sending this our way!
