In our brand new series, our resident sports fanatic Mary takes on some of Ireland’s top female athletes to see if she has what it takes to compete with the best. From chatting about their rigorous training programmes to taking us on to the pitch and right into the middle of the action, some of Ireland’s biggest names show Her.ie how it’s done. This week, we took on the Irish Women’s Hockey team... with some pretty hilarious results! ______________________________________________________ Mary says: We headed out to UCD for a pretty intense workout with the Irish Women’s Hockey team and I’ve got to say, I was absolutely dreading it! Any sport that involves hand-to-eye coordination has always been my downfall and I certainly proved that here, making a show of myself from the word go. Megan Frazer in action for Ireland.  God bless the girls for their patience but as you will see, they will never make a hockey player out of me! The highlight of the day? I have to say I was left feeling as proud as punch when I was presented with my own Irish hockey training top and just a few days later they went on to win the World League 2 in UCD.
