Ryan ‘Felix’ Glenny and his other half Cola Weller decided to get married after finding out that his bowel cancer is terminal.
The couple from Kent, who have two children together (two-year-old Ralph and four-month old Pearl), tied the knot at Medway Maritime Hospital in front of close family and friends on Friday afternoon.
Twenty-three-year-old Felix was diagnosed with bowel cancer last month but, despite an operation and chemotherapy, was told recently that it was incurable.
It is for this reason that he and his girlfriend, who met three years ago, decided to have a civil marriage ceremony. According to reports their wedding song was Ellie Goulding’s
How Long Will I Love You.
Speaking to
Kent Online about the special day, Cola (22) said: “It was so emotional. We got married because we are in love of course, but we had to do it as soon as possible before Ryan deteriorates and we found out there was nothing more the doctors could do.”
She added: “Ralph was a page boy and we found out about Ryan on his second birthday but I can honestly say the last three years with Ryan have been the best of my life.”
