Grow Up Watching The Rugrats? The Original Artist Has Drawn What They’d Look Like Now

If you grew up in the 90s, chances are your Saturday mornings were spent chilling out in front of the TV watching SMTV Live and The Rugrats. In our household, it was also accompanied by everyone bringing their duvets down and tucking ourselves in on the couch to see what adventures Tommy, Chuckie and the gang got into next. While we don’t always want to admit it, we’re old. And nothing proved that faster than when we spotted this poster over on the FM104 Facebook page. The original artist of the Rugrats, Eric Molinsky, decided to draw how our favourite characters would look like now as they’d aged. Into adults. While we can’t comment on each individual, we do think Phil might have gotten a raw deal on this one. Explaining his artwork, Molinsky wrote alongside his etchings: “The Rugrats did not all grow up to be fashion models or self-confident hipsters. Especially not Chuckie. They probably grew up to be average if not slightly lumpy looking people—just like their parents. “We referred to them as lumpy babies for a reason. If we ever drew the Rugrats as being too cute, our executive producer would scold us.” Not exactly what we might have pictured, but at least we recognised them all.
