The headquarters was previously firebombed in 2011 after publishing caricatures of Prophet Mohammad and Muslim leaders.
According to Agence France-Presse, the attackers shouted: "We have avenged the prophet."
The Daily Telegraph's Paris correspondent, Henry Samuel, told Sky News: “According to people on the ground, two masked gunmen burst into the offices very heavily armed, (with) Kalashnikovs, apparently even with a rocket-propelled grenade, and opened fire, leaving several minutes later".
France has raised the alert status in the capital city to highest level following the attack as manhunt begins to find the killers.
