The Irish women’s rugby team has captured their second Six Nations championship in two years after a landslide victory against Scotland at Broadwood Stadium today.
Led by captain Niamh Briggs, Tom Tierney’s side started strongly, with tries from Heather O’Brien, Claire Molloy and Alison Miller.
Knowing they needed to beat their hosts by 27 points to claim the title, the ladies in green made it 37-3 at half-time.
Ireland went on to add further scores in the second-half and coast to victory. The penultimate try of the game was Miller's hat-trick.
The win comes less than 24 hours after the men's side scooped the championship title at Murrayfield.
