Oscar-winning Titanic composer James Horner has reportedly died after a single-engine plane registered in his name crashed in South California.
According to reports, the news was said to have been confirmed by his assistant Sylivia Patrycja on Facebook earlier this morning.
“We have lost an amazing person with a huge heart, and unbelievable talent,” she wrote.
“He died doing what he loved. Thank you for all your support and love and see you down the road. Love Sylivia.”
The crash occurred at approximately 9.30am on Monday morning near Los Padres National Forest.
The 61-year-old won two Oscars in 1997 for composing the score for Titanic and its theme song, My Heart Will Go On.
He also won two Grammys and two Golden Globes for his work on the film.

He has been nominated for 10 Oscars in total for his work on Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, Avatar and Alien to name but a few.
