A Dublin hotel has caused outraged following a controversial post uploaded to their Facebook page regarding room rates for the nights of the Ed Sheeran concert to be held this summer in Croke Park.
The Charleville Lodge hotel in Phibsborough reacted to customers’ shock at the proposed €279 per double room rate for the nights with a scathing post which later went on to list a number of charities.
Advising the public that ‘Beggars can’t be choosers', the charity posted a list of emergency homeless shelters, including the DSPCA's boarding kennels for 'those who don't mind sharing with a dog'.
The post has stirred a mix reaction online, with many people supporting the attitude of the hotel while other Facebook users were disgusted by the post and inclusion of charities in the hotel’s marketing campaign.
The hotel has now started responding to comments criticising the post, with one exchange insulting the Facebook user’s English:

Charleville Lodge Hotel has insisted they will not alter their room rates in their Phibsborough hotel in the run-up to the concert.
