Joe Cocker has died aged 70, after a battle with lung cancer.
According to reports, his agent Barrie Marshall confirmed that he passed away today.
Cocker’s well known tracks include a cover of the classic Beatles track With a Little Help from My Friends and his rendition of You Are So Beautiful proved very popular.
Hr received a Grammy and an Academy Award for his duet with Jennifer Warne, Up Where We Belong, which featured in hit film An Officer and a Gentleman.
In 2007, he was awarded an OBE for his contribution to music.
Having lived in the United States for a number of years, it is believed that he passed away at home in Colorado.
Barrie described him as” hugely talented, a true star, but a kind and humble man who loved to perform. Anyone who ever saw him live will never forget him”.
