When Two Become One – British Couple First In the World To Marry In Onesies

This is taking casual to a whole new level

We know it’s cold at the moment and most of us would love to spend our days snuggled up in a fleecy adult sized babygrow but we would definitely draw the line at wearing one to our own wedding!

But for British couple Kelly and Stuart Scott, the warm all-in-ones were the perfect choice for their wedding when they decided that they didn’t want to spend thousands on dresses and suits.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, 30-year-old bride Kelly explained “Our favourite time of the day is when we are snuggled up watching TV in our onesies after the kids have gone to bed.

“Nowadays getting married costs thousands and we couldn’t afford a traditional wedding.

“We felt sad about the thought of having a cheap wedding so we said why not have a me and you wedding instead?

But they weren’t the only ones wearing eh… onesies. Ten members of their wedding party also wore the babygrow-style rompers including the couple’s one-year-old son Frankie and Kelly’s seven-year-old daughter Teigan.

The wedding party show off their unique style…

However, not everyone decided to go for the comfy option. Kelly’s step-father who gave her away wore a smart suit as did her Dad who acted as best man.

“We tried to get the minister to wear a onesie but he politely declined and told us he didn’t have one.” Kelly reveals.

“He told us he had never married a couple in onesies before.

And although the couple’s photos aren’t the most conventional, the bride says that looking back she wouldn’t have done it any other way.

“At first we said in a couple of years we would renew our vows but now I wouldn’t change anything about our wedding day.

“I did imagine getting married in a big white dress as a kid but as you get older you realise that there are things more important than spending thousands on a dress.

“And the best thing is that we can snuggle up on the sofa in our wedding outfits.”
