Here’s What You Might Be Wearing For Spring Summer 2015

Crisp whites, pretty gingham and vibrant prints.

Cathy Donohue

If you’re a fashion fan, you might have been glued to the spring summer shows that took place in September.

We certainly were and there were a few trends that emerged as frontrunners.

While some of the designs aren’t accessible for everyday wear, we’ve selected a few that you can mix and match with your pre-existing wardrobe.

Girly gingham

If you were watching the Oscar de la Renta show SS15 you might have noticed his penchant for gingham. It was the last collection the designer showcased before he passed away in October. The models walked the runway dressed in glorious floral creations and delightfully feminine separates. In tribute to Oscar, and because they’re so darn pretty, we will be wearing gingham this spring.

The Feathered Effect

Feathers and fringing were popular with many designers including Fendi (below) and Balenciaga. There were little black dresses and separates featuring ornate embellishment, statement fringing and bold feathers. This is one trend we can’t wait to get on board with for the new season…

Romantic fabrics

Models clad in tulle and chiffon paraded down the runway at Valentino (below) and Alberta Ferretti. Whimsical silhouettes and layered fabrics made for classically elegant designs. Showcasing shades of lush pink, slate grey and chic cream, we’re predicting these dresses will be worn on a few red carpets next year.

Little White Dress

The LBD will have to take a backseat next season because the little white dress is set to become the must-have piece of SS15. We’re still dreaming of the white eyelet lace dress at Chloé (below) and the high-necked mini dresses at Louis Vuitton are sassy, fresh and feminine all at the same time.

Bohemian Like You

While maxi-dresses aren’t a new trend, we are bowled over by the bohemian vibes of next season’s offerings. Bold motifs at Etro (below) and perfect pleats at Chloé, a trend that manages to nail both comfort and style is always a winner with us.
