White Claw’s new watermelon flavour just dropped in Ireland and it is, unsurprisingly, delicious

Gimme.

Cast your mind back to summer 2020. The pandemic was in full swing. It was very hot. US sensation White Claw had just landed in Ireland and day drinking was never the same again.

The mother of all seltzers started a serious trend back in the day, leading to a seltzer explosion. All across the country people were popping open their little cans of alcohol that tasted pretty similar to flavoured sparkling water. It was special. It was glorious.

Now, White Claw have done the good people of Ireland a solid and dropped a new flavour – watermelon. And yes, it’s just as tasty as you’re imagining.

Scott Walton, President of Mark Anthony Brands International said: “Watermelon is one of the top flavours in the USA, and we couldn’t think of a better place than Ireland to launch our latest product in Europe.

“The Irish consumer has embraced White Claw, and Ireland is now one of our top markets. Irish customers are seeking lower calorie alcohol alternatives and shouldn’t have to compromise their lifestyle when it comes to their social life.

“White Claw taps into that desire with an exciting and unconventional alternative to other alcohol categories, which is evident in our category sales. We are confident that Irish consumers will embrace this new flavour just like they have done with Natural Lime, Black Cherry, Raspberry and Mango.”

We’re sure we will, Scott. We’re sure we will.

White Claw watermelon is available in Irish supermarkets this month for €3 per can and €10 for a four pack.
